Sitting at the bottom of a hill in Goose Hollow next to a vegan cheese shop, Ichiza Eats provides some of the best vegan food Portland has to offer: Pan-Asian meals that provide the same comfort as a home-cooked meal. A perfect option for any vegan unfamiliar with Japanese food!

Maruti Indian Restaurant (Vegetarian- V&GF Options)
Maruti prepares contemporary Indian cuisine based on traditional family recipes off of SE Hawthorne. All of their produce is organic and locally sourced and prepared with non-GMO rice bran oil. They also offer Ayurvedic-style meals! This is seriously some of the best vegan Indian food Portland has to offer.

Located off of SE Foster, this mid-1900’s style diner brings a retro feel to some classic brunch dishes. They have a variety of American vegan breakfast and lunch staples including a vegan burger made with their in-house mushroom, leek, wild, and brown rice patties.

Tin Shed Garden Cafe (Vegan- Gluten-Free Options)
The Tin Shed Garden Cafe in Alberta dishes out responsibly sourced food for both you and your pooch! A great stop for a vegan lunch break during a long walk. With a large menu and many vegan and gluten-free substitutes, there’s sure to be something for everyone to enjoy.

Focused on redistributing funds into the sex worker community, late-night delivery service business owner Nikeisah C. Newton has been a major activist for Black and SW rights for many years and has been feeding Portland protesters! All meals are $15 including the delivery fee.

Supernova Food Cart (Vegan- Gluten-Free Options)
Previously on Woodstock and now located in Sellwood this food cart is focused on making great vegan lunch food! Very kind and friendly staff who are always willing to accommodate and answer any questions you may have about their menu.

This food cart is slingin’ out perfectly crafted vegan grilled cheeses in the Gateway district. They have special rotating flavors inspired by their customer’s four-legged friends!

Food Fight! Grocery
It’s very unlikely to be a vegan in Portland and NOT know about Food Fight!, the all-vegan grocery store with two locations off of NE Halsey and SE Stark. But we still wanted to give them a shout-out! They currently have all their locations closed to the public due to COVID-19 but are still offering a pickup service at their Halsey location. They’re a vegan’s grocery shopping paradise!
Tom Bumble Peanut Butter Bars (Vegan Gluten-Free)
If I make the mistake of eating a Tom Bumble Bar I always find myself getting hopelessly addicted to them for the next straight week! Or until I find some willpower to stop eating them (which rarely ever happens). They’re a perfect vegan and gluten-free alternative to the crunchy layered chocolate-covered peanut bars you may have been missing. They’re also made with organic sugar and fair trade chocolate; big plus!
Pan’s Mushroom Jerky (Vegan Gluten-Free)
If you’ve been craving a chewy umami snack but can’t seem to find anything to satisfy, Pan’s Mushroom Jerky may just be the solution you needed! Made with shiitake mushrooms and spice blends such as Zesty Thai and Applewood BBQ. Not to mention they are also paleo-friendly, kosher, soy-free, and organic!
Better Bar (Vegan Gluten-Free)
And finally, we have the Better Bar, the vegan bar Portland has been asking for! They’re the ultimate everything-free, antioxidant-packed, and raw pressed snack. They’re made without any common allergens and are safe for those with Celiacs! Made to be both stamina building and blood sugar-stabilizing with goji berries added into the mix. You can also choose to have all of this covered in chocolate as well!
