Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Lately, I’ve been looking for some new ways to add some more kick to my breakfast. I recently switched my exercise schedule to the mornings and wasn’t feeling like I was getting enough substance from my basic breakfast go to’s. I’ll make smoothies or eat Nora’s Kitchen Granola with cashew milk, but I had a little extra time the other day and thought why not have both? And that’s when I created this insanely delicious granola layered chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie!

Don’t worry! This chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie is both vegan and gluten-free. I call it the Breakfast of Champions because this isn’t just any ordinary smoothie concoction. We are talking granola, fresh coconut flakes then a blend of essential smoothie ingredients to really make this smoothie more like a breakfast bowl. I like to layer my ingredients because mixing becomes messy and I still need to get ready for my other day jobs.

YOU WILL NEED:
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup unsalted organic crunchy peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp Bob's Red Mill chocolate protein powder
  • 1/3 cup coconut flakes
  • Dash of cinnnamon
  • Dash of cardamon
  • 1-1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond cashew milk (depending on thickness)
  • 5 ice cubes
MAKES:
10 oz
TIME:
5 minutes
DIRECTIONS
  1. Blend all smoothie ingredients until fully blended.
  2. Add Nora's Kitchen Granola to the bottom of a 16 oz mason jar, layer a dash of fresh coconut flakes and pour in about half of your smoothie mix then repeat until glass is full. You can add as much or as little as you want of the granola.

Enjoy your Nora’s Kitchen Granola chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie at home, on the go, or even as your morning coffee replacement!
